In addition to founding Sophia Academy, Sister Mary’s remarkable legacy includes teaching in Rhode Island schools, serving as a missionary in Central America, and co-founding several local nonprofit organizations. In 2019, she was inducted into the Rhode Island Heritage Hall of Fame.
